Unique strategic cooperation in a new guise

We now have plaques in the Univerzum HQ announcing the exemplary cooperation with Óbuda University in the creation of two industrial chairs.

Professor Dr. Levente Kovács, Rector, and István Petényi, evosoft CEO, emphasized in their welcome speech on the table inauguration event that the construction of the Research and Development Industrial Chair at the John von Neumann Faculty of Informatics and the Industry 4.0 Department at the Kandó Kálmán Faculty of Electrical Engineering is unique and forward-looking for both higher education institutions and economic players.

The new industrial chairs give us the opportunity to introduce students to the practical side of the industry using the latest developments and cutting-edge tools.

On 8 February, the table inauguration event was attended by the leaders and representatives of the Faculties of Informatics and Electrical Engineering from the university side, and from our company side by our employees, who are working with commitment and enthusiasm every day to make the cooperation a success.

Following the ceremony, we gave our university guests a tour of our laboratories to offer them first-hand insight into our latest developments and innovative solutions.

We demonstrate our digitization solutions through the Digitalization Showroom we’ve built.

Our guests visited our recently opened TinkerLAB - a place for colleagues to think innovatively and turn their ideas into reality.

Going back at least a decade

During more than 10 years of cooperation with the university, we have taken an active role in the university's community life, supported the Faculty's Students’ Scientific Conference, the Kandó Kálmán College for Advanced Studies lecture series as a speaker, the Researchers' Night as an exhibitor, and developed the university's educational machinery, equipment and plant. We also play an active role in the final examination committees of both faculties.

At the John von Neumann Informatics Faculty of Computer Engineering BSc in C# programming, we conduct lab sessions, hold lectures, and participate in educational activities related to software design and development and software engineering technology.

At the Kandó Kálmán Faculty of Electrical Engineering, we have been teaching BSc electrical engineering students PLC in the subject of Advanced control solutions with Siemens devices since 2015. And for MSc students, our lectures on electric drives transfer our colleagues’ professional knowledge to the next generation of engineers.

The agreement to launch the two industrial chairs was signed in October 2022 to provide students with the best conditions for acquiring practical, usable knowledge. (Read the details in our previous blog article.)
